About The Beta Alpha Psi Organization

Beta Alpha Psi was founded in 1919. There are over 300 chapters on college and university campuses with over 300,000 members initiated since Beta Alpha Psi's formation. The Gamma Xi chapter at San Jose State University was founded in 1969.


 

National Objectives

Beta Alpha Psi is a national scholastic and professional organization for Financial Information Professionals. The primary objective of the organization is to encourage and give recognition to scholastic and professional excellence in the business information field. This includes promoting the study and practice of accounting, finance and information systems, providing opportunities for self-development and association among members and practicing professionals, and encouraging a sense of ethical, social, and public responsibility.


 

Chapter Objectives

Our chapter objectives are inline with the direction set by our national leadership. BAP strives to promote the academic and professional excellence that is the hallmark of organization to all students at San Jose State University. Through our community and professional outreach programs, our members work not only to increase their personal worth but the worth of the community as well.
